The Mornington Community Christmas Lunch is held at the Senior Citizens Hall on Christmas Day, from 12pm to 2pm, for local residents (adults only) who would otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day. It has been running for seventeen years, and it continues to be a success due to the kindness of volunteers, local businesses, and organisations providing invaluable support.
Mornington Community Information and Support Centre (MCISC) auspice the lunch and it is sponsored by Mornington Peninsula Shire (Delivered Meals provide the lunch), Mt Martha Community Bank, and Functioning Together (event planning).
Bookings for guests are essential and they commence in September through MCISC.
Anyone interested in assisting can leave their contact details with MCISC and the Coordinator will contact them. Volunteers are welcome to attend planning meetings that commence in September at MCISC, and there are numerous volunteer roles to fill on Christmas Day.
The Combined Churches Christmas Hamper Program along with St. Vincent de Paul and MCISC provide hampers and toys for families in need at Christmas.
